Job summary

Bloom Energy seeks a Preconstruction Manager to join our team on-site in a role based in San Jose, CA or Newark, DE, reporting to the Sr. Manager Construction Services. This is a fully on-site position, five days a week.

Responsibilities include handling buyouts, assembling bid packages, leading RFP processes, and coordinating across design and operations to ensure schedules and budgets are met for complex energy projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering (or 5 years of relevant work experience).
• Strong communication and customer-service orientation.
• Knowledge of construction planning, cost control, safety, and procurement.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Handle buyout of project subcontracted activities from budget estimate through contracts.
• Assemble a presentation-ready cost estimate package with unit costs and bid communications.
• Lead bidding process: create RFPs, solicit bids, evaluate proposals, and level bids.
• Perform scope, schedule, and cost analyses of contractor bids to identify optimal procurement options.
• Coordinate cross-functional feedback to ensure purchased services meet technical, business, commercial, and legal requirements.
• Lead and present cost/budget information to internal teams.
• Source and contract subcontractors and third-party services as required for project scope.
