Job summary

Prevail Recruiting is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to partner with executive leadership, influence strategy, and modernize our preconstruction function for Mid-Atlantic commercial projects.

As the Preconstruction Manager, you will lead the process, develop budgets, coordinate bid activities, and build strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and partners while driving value engineering and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience with a Commercial General Contractor
• Experience in preconstruction, estimating, project development, or project management
• Knowledge of conceptual estimating, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and project planning
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Executive presence and confidence working with clients and leadership teams
• Collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
• Interest in technology, process improvement, and AI-driven workflows

Responsibilities

• Lead the preconstruction process for commercial construction projects
• Develop conceptual budgets, estimates, and competitive proposals
• Coordinate subcontractor bidding, scope reviews, and buyout activities
• Build trusted relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and project partners
• Support project pursuits alongside executive leadership and business development
• Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions
• Continuously improve estimating workflows, systems, and preconstruction processes
• Leverage modern construction technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency

What You'll Do

As our Preconstruction Manager, you'll play a key role in helping us win work while setting projects up for long-term success. You'll collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams throughout the preconstruction process.

What We're Looking For

Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Sage, BuildingConnected, or similar construction technologies is a plus.
