Job summary

Just Construction Recruitment seeks a Preconstruction Manager for an established mechanical contractor in Nashville. You will own the complete preconstruction process, coordinating estimating, purchasing, fabrication, operations and project management to ensure projects are thoroughly planned before construction begins.

Lead budgets, reviews of drawings and contracts, manage bids and risk, and drive handovers from award to operations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction industry experience
• Experience in preconstruction or estimating leadership roles
• Multi-family construction experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings

A well-established mechanical contractor is looking to hire an experienced Preconstruction Manager to support continued growth across large-scale multi-family construction projects.

This is a key leadership position where you'll oversee the complete preconstruction process, working closely with estimating, operations, purchasing and project management to ensure projects are successfully planned before construction begins. The role involves developing budgets, reviewing constructability, managing risk and supporting smooth project handovers from award through to operations.

As the Preconstruction Manager, you'll take ownership of the complete preconstruction process, working closely with estimating, purchasing, fabrication, operations and project management teams to ensure projects are fully planned before construction begins.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the preconstruction process from contract award through project handover
• Developing project budgets, schedules and preconstruction deliverables
• Coordinating estimating, procurement and operations teams
• Reviewing estimates, proposals and contracts
• Managing subcontractor bidding and procurement

About you:

We're looking for an experienced construction professional who has a strong background in preconstruction, estimating or commercial project planning.

You'll ideally have:

• 7+ years of construction industry experience
• Previous experience within a Preconstruction or Estimating leadership role
• Multi-family construction experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and building systems
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings
• Excellent commercial awareness, communication and leadership skills
• Experience using Bluebeam, Microsoft Office and platforms such as Procore, Autodesk or similar software.
