Job summary

Daksta is seeking a seasoned Preconstruction Manager to lead the preconstruction phase for complex commercial projects in Atlanta, GA, North Carolina, or Tampa, FL. You will drive budgets, schedules, and value-engineered solutions across automotive, mission-critical and data center sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage preconstruction for commercial projects, including budgeting, scheduling and planning.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers and internal teams to align goals.
  • Present cost estimates, VE options and proposals to stakeholders.
  • Identify risks from specs and drawings; oversee bid solicitation and procurement.

Job Advertisement: Preconstruction Manager, Commercial Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Preconstruction Manager to join our team in one of three locations: Atlanta, Georgia, North Carolina, or Tampa, Florida. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the preconstruction phase of complex commercial projects, with a focus on automotive, mission-critical, and data center sectors. Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the preconstruction process, including budgeting, scheduling, and planning for commercial construction projects.
  • Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost estimates, value engineering options, and project proposals to stakeholders.
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Oversee bid solicitation, subcontractor selection, and procurement processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering professional growth within the department.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in preconstruction management within the general contracting (GC) industry.
  • Strong background in automotive, mission-critical, or data center projects is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated stability and tenure with mid-to-large-sized contractors.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with owners and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and project management tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as required for meetings and site visits.
Day-to-Day
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive preconstruction plans.
  • Review and refine project budgets, schedules, and scopes of work.
  • Conduct site visits and attend meetings with clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to secure project approvals and align expectations.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate cost estimates.
  • Support the transition from preconstruction to construction, ensuring a seamless handoff to project teams.
