Job summary

Z Modular is seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to coordinate all pre-construction activities at on-site locations across the U.S. You will build and maintain qualified trade networks, manage bidding through BuildingConnected and Procore, and work with design, engineering, purchasing, and site teams to ensure all information and resources are aligned before groundbreaking.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Building Science preferred.
• Willingness to travel across the U.S. (up to weekly).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop a catalog of qualified subcontractors in each trade.
• Pre-qualify subcontractors for efficient pricing by PMs.
• Create and maintain a deep subcontractor list for each trade scope.
• Manage bid processes through BuildingConnected and Procore.
• Conduct pre-construction meetings and site walkthroughs with trades.
• Update bid scopes and create new scopes for product lines and sites.
• Review trade bids for variances and accuracy before finalization.
• Coordinate with design teams to finalize material lists and quantities.
• Prioritize subcontractor buyout activities with site teams.
• Collaborate with purchasing to secure long-term material pricing.
• Maintain template subcontract and consultant agreements.
• Assist with preparing purchase orders, requisitions, and proposals.
• Attend design, engineering, and AOC meetings to stay aligned.
• Lead project management calls with Z Modular personnel.
• Promote healthy and safe work practices per regs.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
