We’re looking for a Project Manager – Pre-Construction to lead early-stage development and pre-construction planning for utility-scale solar projects in New York and beyond.
Oversee and coordinate pre-construction activities, ensuring seamless project execution from development through EPC selection and handover.
Manage technical site assessments, including ALTA and topographic surveys, geotechnical studies, and layout optimization.
Engage and oversee consultants and Owner’s Engineering firms to advance projects to execution-ready status.
Prepare and manage contractor RFPs, evaluate bids, and support contract negotiations.
Collaborate with internal teams (development, finance, engineering, and operations) to optimize project design, cost structures, and risk mitigation strategies.
Develop pre-construction budgets and financial models, ensuring project feasibility and cost efficiency.
Establish best practices and industry standards to streamline project execution and enhance operational efficiency.
Four to ten years of progressive experience in engineering, construction, or project management within the renewable energy industry.
Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience handling multiple projects in fast-paced environments.
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of NYSERDA and New York State permitting regulations is a plus.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Ability to travel up to 30 percent (primarily across the U.S. and Canada) to project sites, contractor offices, and industry events.
Remote position (East Coast preferred) with frequent site visits across New York.
Salary range: $126,000 – $172,000 (based on experience).
