Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to oversee estimating and lead bid activities. The role may serve as primary contact for the Owner and design team on various pursuits, coordinating with the Preconstruction Director on more complex projects.

You will build relationships with owners, subcontractors, and internal teams, track budgets, and ensure contract compliance while guiding scheduling and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering or equivalent field experience.
• Proven estimating/design management/field management experience.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Participate in interviews and interview prep for negotiated bids and lead estimate/bid process meetings.
• Build and maintain relationships with owners, subs, vendors and internal clients.
• Track and manage project budgets and present documentation to owners.
• Prepare qualifications aligned with contractual obligations and ensure compliance.
• Assist in preconstruction/construction scheduling and risk management.
• Support training of staff and manage safety and EEO/affirmative action programs.
• Represent McCarthy at design/coordination meetings and contribute design input.
• Assist in prequalification, responses to RFPs/RFQs and buyout/log management.
