Job summary

AECOM Hunt in Dallas, TX is seeking a Preconstruction Intern for Summer 2027. This position offers hands-on exposure to cost estimating, schedule development, and logistics planning within a real project environment.

You will work under senior staff to gain experience with On-Screen Takeoff and Assemble while learning to balance time, scope, and budget to deliver quality work during the internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field with at least one year of study completed.
• Recent graduates may apply if planning to pursue further study.
• Undergraduate students should be enrolled in their degree program during the internship.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.
• Assist with development of a project prior to on-site construction activities (Cost Estimating – determine quantities using 2D takeoff or 3D models).
• Schedule Development – review project documentation to determine scope involved to assist in creating a preliminary project schedule.
• Logistics Planning – study characteristics of the project site to determine best approach to phasing, access, and laydown areas.
