Qualifications

• Associate's degree or certificate in a related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in the position.
• Introductory knowledge of construction from a general contractor perspective.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs for specific trades using estimating software, ensuring calculations are accurate.
• Compile material lists, labor hours, and equipment costs based on take-offs and pricing.
• Review project drawings and specifications to identify estimating requirements and potential issues.
• Follow up with subcontractors and vendors to obtain bids and clarify questions.
• Input subcontractor bids and pricing into bid sheets and internal documents.
• Maintain organized project files, drawings, and correspondence.
• Continuously learn and develop estimating skills by training and guidance from senior staff.
• Update subcontractor and vendor database with new contacts and information.
• Prepare RFIs to the design team for clarifications on drawings/specifications.
• Develop expertise in one or more trades to improve take-offs accuracy and speed.
