Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking an Estimator to participate in bid/estimating, quantify take-offs, pricing, scoping, and subcontractor coordination.

The role supports the preconstruction process from plans/specs through bid completion and will be based in Southern California. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering, familiarity with OST/MC2/QTO, BIM tools, and strong math, analytical, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related major.
• Internship in construction estimating preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs.
• Knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes.
• Working knowledge of estimating tools including OST, MC2, QTO and BIM software.

Responsibilities

• Performs quantity take-offs and assists in pricing and bidding of construction projects.
• Communicates with architects/consultants to clarify scope, materials, and schedule.
• Supports bid reviews and development of price proposals.
• Prepares contractual exhibits and organizes bid information for owner presentation.
• Maintains relationships with subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
