Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to participate in the bid and estimating process, performing quantity take-offs, pricing, scoping, and bid assembly for mechanical and plumbing packages on large projects in Southern California.

You will solicit subcontractors, align scope with BIM/VDC teams, and prepare estimates for owner presentations, with an emphasis on meeting project objectives, budgets, and schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of mechanical estimating experience on large projects.
• Knowledge of construction principles and contractual delivery methods.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs and pricing of mechanical and plumbing estimates.
• Solicit subcontractors during bidding and organize post-bid information.
• Coordinate with BIM and VDC teams for quantity validation.
• Prepare estimate basis for owner presentations and proposals.
• Communicate scope, materials, and schedule needs to operations teams.
