Job summary

3G Companies is seeking an estimator/preconstruction professional to manage staff and resources for estimating and preconstruction. You will develop budgets, takeoffs, and proposals while coordinating with clients and trade partners to ensure cost-effective budgets.

This onsite role requires a minimum of 2–4 years of estimating experience, proficiency with Sage Estimating, On-Screen Takeoff, Modelogix, and Bluebeam, and a valid driver’s license. Travel may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2–4 years of construction estimating experience.
• Experience with Sage Estimating, On-Screen Takeoff, Modelogix, and Bluebeam preferred.
• Understanding of preconstruction process including schematic design and design development.
• Strong estimating, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual budgets, estimates, schedules, and proposals.
• Complete and organize quantity takeoffs.
• Review labor, material, and trade partner costs for accuracy.
• Solicit bids from trade partners and suppliers.
• Review bid documents and scopes to ensure costs are aligned.
• Review project documents and identify potential issues or concerns.
• Review designs for constructability and provide feedback.
• Develop and present value engineering options.
• Participate in budget review and project development meetings.
• Maintain cost history and project estimating data for future budgets.
• Communicate with clients, architects, engineers, trade partners and internal teams.
