Suffolk is seeking an Estimator in Boston to coordinate project budgeting, including detailed takeoffs, subcontractor pricing, and historical cost data to deliver timely estimates for preconstruction, hard bids, negotiated bids, and value engineering scenarios.

The role requires staying current on market pricing trends, and maintaining bid records while managing the prequalification process and trade partner communications to ensure alignment with project scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
• 3-6 years of estimating experience or equivalent.
• Experience with quantity surveys and takeoffs.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings (SD, DD, CD).

Responsabilités

• Prepare detailed takeoffs of materials.
• Prepare detailed labor estimates using man-hours, crews and equipment.
• Solicit material prices from suppliers and obtain current labor rates.
• Prepare subcontractor bid packages and bid invitations.
• Follow up with subs regarding bidding and update subcontractor lists.
• Attend site visits and review plans and specs.
• Assist in preconstruction activities and quality control of bids.
