Job summary

Suffolk Construction in Las Vegas is seeking an Estimator to coordinate project budgeting, prepare quantity surveys, obtain subcontractor pricing and review cost data. You will help ensure compliant scope of work, deliver accurate estimates for preconstruction, hard bids, negotiated bids and value engineering.

The role requires staying current with market pricing, maintaining bid records, managing trade prequalification, and supporting the Chief Estimator.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field.
3-6 years of experience in Estimating or equivalent.
Quantity surveys, take off skills, computer skills.
Ability to read & interpret blue prints and interpret construction documents.

Responsibilities

Understand scope of work and complexity; prepare detailed takeoffs of materials and labor.
Solicit material prices from suppliers and obtain current labor rates.
Prepare subcontractor bid packages and bid invitations; manage subcontractor list.
Coordinate with Senior/Chief Estimator on quantity takeoffs and preconstruction activities.
Attend site visits and review plans to ensure complete and accurate estimates.
Develop a thorough scope of work and pricing control estimates for each trade.
