BUILD Renewables, Mendota Heights, MN, is seeking a Preconstruction Engineer to support pursuit, estimating, engineering, and procurement for utility-scale solar projects. You will assist with pre-mobilization planning and interface with engineering partners during design and bid phases, including PV layouts and IFC documents.

The role emphasizes internal collaboration, rapid analysis of drawings, and effective communication with clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Construction Engineering related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in Project Management or Engineering of construction projects.
• Prior experience working on utility scale renewable energy projects, specifically Solar, is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage, execute and prioritize deliverables with schedule constraints.
• Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with clients, BUILD Renewables personnel, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Bluebeam, Procore and construction related software programs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Responsible for preconstruction planning for renewable energy construction projects.
• Support estimating, engineering and procurement Project teams as assigned.
• Build relationships with engineering partners, customers and other company departments.
• Support customer communications alongside the Preconstruction Manager during the preconstruction phase.
• Review drawings, specifications and documents and communicate issues and EPC risks.
• Support the internal estimating process and related customer questions.
• Support design meetings and interface with engineering partners to generate IFC design documents.
• Generate preliminary PV layouts in CAD/PVcase for customer communication and estimating activities.
• Support engineering analyses of both AC & DC electrical architecture for estimates and procurement.
• Utilize PV modeling tools such as PVsyst and Plant Predict to model and optimize plant performance.
• Ensure risk factors are evaluated and reviewed with the pursuit team.
• Assist with change orders including cost/schedule impacts and potential claims with vendors.
• Interpret project schedule to identify equipment delivery dates, pricing, submittals and procurement schedules.
• Support pursuit and engineering for up to two projects simultaneously.
• Maintain continuous improvement loop to monitor performance and opportunities.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders from middle management to C-level.
• All other duties as assigned.
