Job summary

U.S. Engineering is seeking an Assistant Preconstruction Manager to support project development from inception through preconstruction, focusing on design, budgets, and coordination across design‑assist and design‑build projects.

You will assist with concept development, cost impact analysis, and early estimating while maintaining estimating processes and databases. The role involves collaboration with Project Managers and Field teams, office and site work, and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Science/Management, or Architectural Engineering preferred.
• Equivalent technical training and related experience will be considered.
• Preferred 1 to 5 years of HVAC, piping, and plumbing experience in commercial/industrial/institutional settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completing the design on incomplete documents and review design documents for cost and schedule impact.
• Support preconstruction design progress on design‑assist/build projects focusing on scope, schedule, and coordination.
• Assist with generating budget estimates and maintaining a preliminary estimating method and database.
