Job summary

Clark Bros, Inc. is seeking a Preconstruction Engineer in California to support preconstruction and estimating efforts.

You will develop digital terrain models, perform earthwork takeoffs, and prepare construction models using AGTEK and AutoCAD while collaborating with estimating and operations teams. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of experience in heavy civil earthwork and CAD/digital modeling, with familiarity in drone mapping.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in heavy civil construction, earthwork estimating, quantity takeoffs, CAD drafting, or digital construction modeling.
• Proficiency in AGTEK software for earthwork modeling and takeoffs.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD for reviewing civil drawings and grading plans.
• Experience operating drones for aerial surveys and construction mapping; FAA Part 107 preferred.
• Strong math, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain digital terrain models using AGTEK and AutoCAD.
• Perform earthwork quantity takeoffs including cut-and-fill and material movement.
• Review civil plans and site data to develop accurate quantity calculations.
• Assist in estimating, bid preparation, and project planning.
• Identify constructability issues and propose cost-saving solutions.
• Coordinate with estimators and project teams to validate quantities.
