Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Building Science or Construction Management.
• 7–10 years in pre-construction/estimating on large institutional projects.
• Advanced knowledge of cost estimating, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Proficient with MS Office; experience with SureTrak/Primavera and OnScreen.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive client/architect relationships for project execution.
• Attend client meetings and ceremonial events; maintain client satisfaction.
• Present to secure new work for the company.
• Prepare conceptual, schematic, and design development estimates.
• Assemble estimates with general conditions, special conditions, and bonds.
• Analyze cost models during design development and bidding.
• Create bid lists for subcontractors and material vendors.
• Lead bid solicitation to ensure coverage and competitiveness.
• Prepare bid packages and analyze subcontractor bids.
• Ensure documents needed for estimating are complete.
• Lead preconstruction strategy meetings and develop preliminary schedules.
• Organize transfer meetings between project and preconstruction teams.
• Know material unit costs and building square foot costs.
• Oversee accuracy of estimates, drawings, and specifications.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Participate in business development presentations to show preconstruction value.
• Manage workload and mentor support staff.
