Job summary

Hoar Construction seeks a Preconstruction Engineer to assist in providing preconstruction services for projects. You will analyze costs and scopes, coordinate with the team, and help build relationships with clients and trade partners.

The role requires 1–3 years in large‑scale facility construction, basic MEP knowledge, and proficiency in MS Office. Travel up to 10% may be required; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in large, complex facility construction and on-site management.
• Basic MEP knowledge.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Valid driver's license required.
• LEED AP, OSHA 10 Hour preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand construction design documents and specifications.
• Perform quantity take-offs for divisions/scopes of work.
• Develop industry relationships and expand professional networks that have potential to generate future sales opportunities.
• Organize and attend project meetings with appropriate members of the project team; ensure agendas and minutes are produced and distributed.
• Ensure bid documents are sent to bidders and plan rooms for bid packages; build and maintain bidders list.
• Present work product to internal and external clients.
• Assist in trade partner solicitation via phone, emails, and in-person meetings.
• Document existing conditions during pre-bid walks with photos, videos, and notes.
