Job summary

McLean Hospital seeks a Research Specialist to collaborate with investigators, engineers, and lab staff on preclinical imaging studies using mice, rats, and nonhuman primates. You will collect and back up imaging data, prepare reports, and contribute to protocol development and data workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 1-2 years of animal research experience is required; programming experience (Python, MATLAB, R) is preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience with imaging operating systems (Bruker, Varian/Agilent, United Imaging) is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, develop, and support imaging machines.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot research experiments; collect and analyze data.
• Process imaging data and maintain data management systems.
• Coordinate research scanning, protocol implementation, data acquisition, QA/QC, and user support.
• Perform statistical analyses as requested.
• Maintain lab and imaging infrastructure, interfacing with vendors as needed.
• Assist with new imaging protocols and workflows.
• Support preclinical imaging with small and large animals and assist with anesthesia workflows.
