Job summary

Mass General Brigham seeks a Research Specialist to support preclinical imaging studies using mice, rats, and nonhuman primates. Working with investigators and staff, you will operate MRI scanners, perform data processing, and help develop imaging protocols.

You will coordinate scans, run statistical analyses, maintain data infrastructure, and contribute to manuscript preparation while ensuring quality control and compliance with lab and institutional procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
• 1-2 years of animal research experience.
• Experience with programming languages (Python, MATLAB, R) preferred.
• Experience with imaging operating systems (Bruker, Varian/Agilent, United Imaging) required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and support MRI scanners and imaging machines.
• Design, implement, troubleshoot experiments and data collection.
• Process preclinical imaging data and maintain data management systems.
• Coordinate research scanning activities and provide user support.
• Run statistical analyses on collected data.
• Maintain lab infrastructure and ensure clean, organized workspace.
• Assist in developing new imaging protocols and workflows.
• Support preclinical imaging studies with small and large animals and anesthesia workflows.
