Job summary

North American Stainless in Ghent, KY, is seeking a Z-Mill Roll Grinder Operator to manage all operating functions of the roll grinding unit to meet productivity and quality goals outlined in our quality system.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the Z-Mill roller to schedule rolls, placing rolls on staging tables and setting up grinders, and grinding Z-Mills per instructions (work, first intermediate, drive, idles).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to operate grinders and follow work instructions.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Z-Mill roller and create schedule of needed rolls based on width and gauge of material scheduled to run through Z-Mill.
• Place rolls on staging tables and set up grinders.
• Per work instructions, grind the Z-Mills; work, first intermediate, drive, and idles.
• Build bearing housings for intermediate rolls.
