Job summary

North American Stainless seeks a Z-Mill Roll Grinder Operator to manage the roll grinding unit, coordinate roll schedules, and ensure quality through the grinding process. You will set up grinders, grind various mill components, and build bearing housings for intermediate rolls.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent (GED).
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to learn, adapt and retain information.
• Must have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Mobility in plant.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Z-Mill roller and create schedule of needed rolls based on width and gauge of material scheduled to run through Z-Mill.
• Place rolls on staging tables and set up grinders.
• Per work instructions, grind the Z-Mills; work, first intermediate, drive, and idles.
• Build bearing housings for intermediate rolls.
