Job summary

Worthington Armstrong Venture (WAVE) seeks a Wire EDM Technician to set up, operate and troubleshoot high-precision EDM equipment in a toolroom environment. You will read blueprints, edit programs and ensure tight tolerances on critical components.

Qualified candidates have 2–7 years in Wire EDM, strong GD&T knowledge, and experience with CAM tools and CAD drawings. Competitive wages and comprehensive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• 2–7 years of Wire EDM experience in a tool & die or precision machining environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical discharge machining principles, blueprint reading and tolerancing, and precision measurement techniques.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs/setups.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Wire EDM machines (Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Makino or similar).
• Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and GD&T requirements.
• Perform program edits and basic programming (G-code or CAM-generated programs).
• Select proper materials, wire types, and cutting conditions.
• Monitor machining processes to ensure precision and surface finish requirements.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMM (if applicable).
• Troubleshoot machine issues, wire breaks, and dimensional deviations.
• Maintain documentation of setups, offsets, and job progress.
• Support toolroom or production teams with tight-tolerance components and tooling.
