Job summary

Worthington Armstrong Venture (WAVE) is seeking a skilled Wire EDM Technician in Maryland to set up, operate, and troubleshoot high-precision machines for tooling and components with tight tolerances. You will read blueprints, GD&T, and perform basic CAM programming in a hands-on production environment.

Ideal candidates have 2–7 years in wire EDM within tool & die or precision machining, and familiarity with CAM software. Competitive wages and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• 2–7 years of Wire EDM experience in tool & die or precision machining.
• Strong understanding of EDM principles, blueprints, tolerancing, and measurement.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Wire EDM machines (Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Makino, or similar).
• Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and GD&T requirements.
• Perform program edits and basic programming (G-code or CAM-generated).
• Select proper materials, wire types, and cutting conditions.
• Monitor machining processes to ensure precision and surface finish.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMM if applicable.
• Troubleshoot machine issues, wire breaks, and dimensional deviations.
• Maintain documentation of setups, offsets, and job progress.
