2938 - Midsouth Talent Inc is seeking a Quality Control Technician with a welding focus to inspect welded structures, piping, and pressure components across the production lifecycle. You will verify material traceability, ensure welding procedure compliance, and document inspection findings, collaborating with production to prevent defects.

You will participate in pre-welding, in-process, and post-welding inspections, coordinating NDE/NDT and maintaining detailed records.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree or technical welding cert preferred.
• 2–5+ years quality control/inspection in heavy fabrication, piping or welding.
• AWS CWI or ASNT Level II NDE certifications highly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and welding symbols.
• Familiarity with AWS D1.1 and ASME codes; precision measurement tools.

Responsabilidades

• Verify materials against MTRs and WPS before/during welding.
• Check fit-up, alignment, root gaps, and tack welds pre-weld.
• Validate welder qualifications for used processes (e.g., SMAW, GTAW, GMAW).
• Monitor preheat/interpass temps and heat input per WPS during welding.
• Perform in-process inspections and prevent defects and rework.
• Post-weld visual and dimensional checks; measure throat/leg with gauges.
• Coordinate NDE/NDT (UT, MPI, LPT, RT) and document results.
• Maintain weld maps, inspection logs, NCRs, and data packages.
• Support third-party inspectors and customer representatives.
