Job summary

Specialty Fabricating Co. is seeking a fabrication role focused on welding procedures, reading blueprints, and ensuring tight tolerances across welded structures.

This in-person position emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and teamwork within a multigenerational family business. The ideal candidate will have a HS diploma, and a CWI certification is a major plus; experience with acetylene/plasma cutting is advantageous, and Excel proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of different welding procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in a fabrication environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent; CWI certificate is a Major Plus.
• Excel skills are required.
• Experience with finish grinding of welded materials—rails per NOMA designations.
• Past experience with acetylene torch or plasma cutter is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Checking the fit and fabrication of welded structural material for accurate layout and weld patterns.
• Ensuring all product meets the proper tolerances for the intended application with the proper finish coat applied (ex: Prime paint, Finish Paint, Galvanized, etc.).
• When required, accompany Project Managers out to project locations to verify product related issues if they occur and identify corrective measures to make.
• Tracking all project material as it's received in the production plant for specific projects and keeping that material organized.
