Job summary

Rotating Machinery Services, Inc. in Pasadena, TX is seeking a Welder – Engineered Products to join our team.

You will perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy components used in steam turbines, compressors, and turbomachinery, ensuring compliance with drawings and quality standards. This full-time role requires at least 5 years of related experience, ability to pass WPQ, and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Pass WPQ on in-house procedures and maintain continuity log.
• Fabricate centrifugal compressor impellers via slot and fillet welding.
• Visual inspection of welds and grinding/upgrade techniques.
• Pre-work setup of positioners, thermal blankets, induction heaters.
• Track usage of consumables and describe logs for audits.
• Repair on stationary and rotating turbomachinery components.
• Proficient in GTAW; automatic welding familiarity a plus.
• SAW welding using in-house automatic machine.
• Record measurements to customer/OEM specs with precision tools.

Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate rotating equipment components per drawings.
• Ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Support production with MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and log non-conformities.
• Work overtime or weekends as required.
