Job summary

GORDON is seeking a Welder to weld, cut, and braze metal pieces using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment. The role involves MIG and TIG welding, following work orders, and fabricating parts to specification.

You will read drawings, plan procedures, and maintain equipment while adhering to safety standards. The position emphasizes precision, teamwork, and clean work practices in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications used for welding.
• Plan and lay out welding details from work orders.
• Maintain accuracy with tape measure and precise measurements.
• Demonstrate excellent hand-eye coordination for precision welding.
• Detail-oriented and reliable team member.
• Maintain and repair welding equipment as needed.
• Follow safety rules and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• MIG & TIG welding as required by job specifications.
• Plan details of work order procedures; gather tools/materials.
• Repair and fabricate items using cutting, burning, and welding.
• Monitor welding process to prevent overheating/warping.
• Prepare and tack weld parts and surfaces.
• Keep equipment and work area clean and organized.
• Notify supervisor of faulty equipment or materials.
• Maintain orderly tool area and floor space.
• Comply with Job Safety Analysis and PPE requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
