Job summary

Morton Industries is seeking a welder to assemble and weld metal components using MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) processes. You will interpret prints, fit parts, perform in-process inspections, and produce assemblies that meet safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has experience with welding processes, reads weld symbols, and can perform basic shop calculations. This on-site role requires adherence to safety procedures and willingness to work overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), or other welding processes.
• Ability to read prints, weld symbols, dimensions, and instructions.
• Ability to perform basic shop math and dimensional calculations.
• Identify welding defects and adjust welds accordingly.
• Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work overtime if required.

Responsibilities

• Review production schedules, work orders, and prints.
• Set up and operate welding equipment with appropriate processes.
• Fit, tack, and finish-weld components per specs.
• Interpret weld symbols and tolerances from prints.
• Inspect weldments using gauges, fixtures, and measuring tools.
• Report weld defects or equipment issues promptly.
• Complete welding, brazing, grinding, and related assembly tasks as needed.
• Maintain clean and safe work area and follow safety procedures.
