Job summary

Granite State Manufacturing, a leading contract manufacturer, seeks a skilled welder/fabricator to join our team supporting Navy submarines and complex builds. You will weld across sheet to heavy plate using Tig-Mig-stick processes, interpret prints, and create fixtures in collaboration with engineering and QC.

Work focuses on precision, tight tolerances, and high-skill fabrication in a safe, supportive environment with opportunities for growth in advanced manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Intermediate knowledge of welding standards and symbols; may need guidance interpreting specs.
• Able to read prints and relating tolerances to welds and fixtures.
• Must pass welding tests and demonstrate workmanship to standards.
• Familiar with GD&T and datum references; additional training available as needed.
• Compliance with export-control requirements and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Welds a variety of metals from sheet to heavy plate using Tig-Mig-stick processes.
• Interprets blueprints, weld symbols, and machining requirements to produce fixtures.
• Collaborates with manufacturing, quality control, and engineering to solve weld-related issues.
• Maintains safe, clean work area and follows GSM safety practices and ethics.
• Assists with setups for new jobs and uses standard jigs, fixtures, and measuring devices.
