Granite State Manufacturing is a leading contract manufacturer specializing in large, complex precision machining and welding. We support the US Navy and handle high-mix, low-to-medium volume production with a focus on quality and on-time delivery.

The welding role requires expert knowledge of military and AWS specs, advanced blueprint reading, and the ability to perform under strict quality and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of military specifications (Mil-Spec) and AWS specs.
• Proficient blueprint reading including weld symbols and datums.
• Strong understanding of NDT concepts and requirements.
• Extensive knowledge of GTA, GMA, SMA welding processes.
• Ability to read and operate inspection tooling (verniers, height gauges).
• Experience training and mentoring lower level welders.
• Familiarity with export-control/ITAR regulations.

Responsibilities

• Welds and fabricates a variety of metals from sheet to heavy plate.
• Interprets blueprints and weld symbols to produce fixtures and weldments.
• Collaborates with manufacturing, quality control, and engineering to solve weld-related issues.
• Trains and mentors junior welders to ensure quality workmanship.
• Maintains safe, clean work area and adheres to GSM policies.
• Operates manual vertical mills, saws, grinders, and overhead cranes as required.
• Complies with all export-control regulations.
