Job summary

Contech in Topeka, Kansas is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to join our fabrication team at the Topeka, KS plant. You will read blueprints, lay out material, and perform welding using MIG and Stick processes to contribute to infrastructure projects including drainage systems and bridges.

You should have a high school diploma or GED and proven welding skills. Technical training or welding experience is preferred, and attention to detail with precision instruments is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in welding techniques, including MIG, and Stick welding.
• Technical training or welding experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work with precision instruments.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Technical training or welding experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures to ensure accurate welding.
• Uses template, pattern, scribe, etc. to mark and lay out material.
• Aligns and assembles product for welding using crane, lever hoist, chains, etc.
• Uses cutting or plasma torch to burn to precision layout.
• Adheres to safety protocols to create a secure work environment.
