Job summary
Qualified Staffing is seeking skilled welders for a Lapeer, MI based manufacturer. This 1st shift role runs Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with pay between $20.00 and $30.00 per hour based on experience. Candidates will undergo on-site weld testing and must submit a resume.
The position emphasizes MIG and TIG welding, fabrication and fitting of metal components, reading blueprints, and adhering to ASME codes and safety standards in defense and commercial environments.
Qualifications
- Proven welding/fabrication experience in manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools; rigging knowledge a plus.
- ASME codes & standards knowledge relevant to welding.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and technical drawings to determine fabrication specs.
- Perform MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding on metal components.
- Use hand and power tools for fabrication and assembly.
- Operate rigging equipment including cranes and forklifts.
- Measure dimensions with calipers/micrometers for proper fit.
- Follow ASME codes and safety protocols during fabrication.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and collaborate with teammates.
