Job summary

Qualified Staffing is seeking skilled MIG welders for 1st and 2nd shifts in Michigan. Pay is $21.20 per hour plus a $0.50 second-shift premium and a weekly attendance incentive of $1.40 per hour.

Duties include setting up and welding according to specs, reading blueprints, and operating cranes and forklifts in a safe, productive environment. Applicants should have at least 1 year of MIG welding experience, the ability to pass a MIG weld test, and familiarity with tape measures and weld symbols.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of MIG fabrication welding experience.
• Strong background in material handling, including crane and forklift operation.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move heavy materials, and weld in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Must be able to pass a MIG weld test.
• Ability to read tape measures and understand weld symbols.
• Familiarity with standard welding equipment.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
• Welding certification or apprenticeship is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, assemble, and MIG weld carbon steel and other materials per specs.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine welds and assembly procedures.
• Prepare materials for welding by clamping, grinding, and positioning components.
• Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move materials and finished parts.
• Conduct visual inspections and perform quality checks on welds to meet ASME standards.
• Perform basic maintenance on welding and material handling equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols and keep a clean, organized work area.
