Job summary

ADP, Inc. seeks a skilled Single Hand Welder in Midland, TX, to join our production team. The role involves reading blueprints, selecting welding methods, and welding components to tight specifications with high accuracy.

You will operate various welding processes and ensure compliance with safety and code standards. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of welding experience, a professional welding certification, and the ability to pass 6G and NDE tests, including XRAY/ultrasonic.

Qualifications

• Must have proven welder experience with code welding.
• Must pass a 6G welding test.
• Must pass NDE testing (XRAY and Ultrasonic).
• Experience using welding equipment (MIG, SMAW, FCAW).
• Experience in using electrical/manual tools (saws, squares).
• Ability to read technical documents, isometrics, blueprints.
• Knowledge of safety standards and use of protective gear.
• Proficient in English.
• Completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings, take measurements to plan layout and procedures.
• Determine welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Set up components for welding and cut material to match measurements.
• Operate grinding tools to prepare parts.
• Align components using measuring tools and clamps.
• Cut pipe to length and thread/assemble per drawings.
• Weld pipe and apply welding techniques per code standards.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
• Repair machinery by welding pieces and filling gaps.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures per code standards.
• Maintain equipment ensuring safety and OSHA compliance.
• Perform other duties as required.
