Job summary

Life at West Marine is looking for a Packer to prepare, pack, label, and inspect orders for shipment in a fast-paced warehouse. You will ensure accuracy and quality while following safety protocols and supporting timely order fulfillment.

The role requires basic computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Flexibility to work weekends and overtime is preferred to meet demand.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a receiving or warehouse environment preferred.
• Familiarity with RF scanners and picking systems is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols while handling shipments.
• Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick and pack items according to order specs.
• Packing & Labeling: Pack items securely and label boxes for shipping.
• Inspection & Quality Control: Perform final quality checks before packing.
• Inventory Interaction: Communicate with inventory or receiving staff.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Coordinate with shipping, inventory, and receiving teams.
• Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Other Duties as assigned.
