Job summary

Eastern Metal Supply is seeking a detail-oriented Material Handler to receive, store, move, and prepare materials for shipment. You will ensure accurate storage, safe transport, and compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities include moving materials, sorting by product code, restocking, packaging for shipping, and maintaining accurate paperwork. Forklift experience is a plus, but not required; basic math and tape measure skills are expected.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.

• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
• Must be able to work Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

• Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping, production, or other designated areas.
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to established procedures (size, type, style, or product code).
• Restock materials in assigned bin locations and fill requisitions for warehouse or delivery needs.
• Stack, assemble, band, and package materials for shipping, pickup or truck delivery.
• Measure, cut and package materials according to order specifications.
• Complete and maintain accurate Material Movement paperwork.
• Open boxes, crates, and containers as required.
• Examine inventory for damage, defects, or deterioration and report findings.
• Assist with periodic physical inventory count.
