Job summary

Frazer is seeking an Upfit Technician in Houston to mount and secure vehicle modules on chassis, aligning components with precision and following exacting standards. You will use lift machines, drills, and grinders to install exterior components according to instructions, ensuring a quality build each shift.

Ideal candidates have mechanical aptitude, a clean driving record, and 1+ years in vehicle upfit or related production roles.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience with power tools in a production, trades, or automotive setting.
• Ability to read and follow written work instructions and assembly documentation.
• Active, valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• 1+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, vehicle upfit, or a related production role.
• Experience operating lift, heavy positioning, or equivalent mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings or work order documentation.
• 2+ years in vehicle mounting, upfit, or mechanical assembly, including varied or non-standard chassis types.
• Demonstrated ability to execute the full mount scope independently.
• Experience coordinating with engineering or technical teams on field-level chassis questions.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the shop floor early and prepares for the build by reviewing work orders and staging exterior components.
• Positions and aligns vehicle modules on chassis using the lift machine and verifies fit before drilling or bolting.
• Operates power tools to install exterior components to manufacturer specifications.
• Performs drilling and bolting with correct torque and sequence.
• Performs fit and alignment checks at build milestones and resolves discrepancies.
• Coordinates with engineering on chassis variations and communicates field observations to keep builds moving.
• Mentors newer technicians on lift operation and SWI compliance during live builds.
• Wraps shifts with a clean workspace and proper sign-offs, ensuring Frazer standards are met.
