Job summary

OPW Global in Whitsett, NC, is seeking a Quality Inspector to inspect components, subassemblies and finished products, ensuring conformance to drawings, specs, and customer requirements. You will support manufacturing of valves and regulators by identifying nonconforming material and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specs, tolerances, and GD&T.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments and test methods.
• Ability to set up measuring equipment for inspected characteristics.
• Knowledge of sampling plans and SPC basics.
• Detail-oriented with accurate documentation and records.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate with teams.
• 6S/5S knowledge.
• Proficiency in MS Office and electronic QA systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform first-piece, receiving, in-process, and final inspections.
• Conduct dimensional, visual, and functional inspections per drawings and specs.
• Verify workmanship and product identification prior to release.
• Interpret GD&T to determine conformity.
• Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, thread gauges for measurement.
• Document nonconforming material per quality procedures.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records for traceability.
• Support calibration program and verify equipment status.
• Apply sampling plans and SPC where applicable.
• Communicate quality concerns with other functions.
• Support 6S and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other quality-related duties.
