Job summary

Eagle Transmission West Plano in Plano, TX is seeking a skilled Transmission Builder to join our shop team. This hands-on role focuses on rebuilding and diagnosing automatic and manual transmissions to keep vehicles on the road.

You will disassemble, inspect, measure with micrometers and calipers, replace worn components, and document procedures in a fast-paced environment. ASE certification or equivalent experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transmission rebuilding or drivetrain repair.
• Strong knowledge of automatic and manual transmission systems.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced shop environment.
• ASE certification or equivalent experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, rebuild, and reassemble automatic and manual transmissions
• Diagnose transmission failures and identify worn or damaged components
• Measure and fit transmission parts to manufacturer specifications using precision tools
• Replace seals, gaskets, clutch packs, bands, and other internal components as needed
• Perform torque converter inspection and reconditioning
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the rebuild area
• Document repair procedures and parts usage accurately
