Job summary

Relyans Max. seeks a skilled Machinist to operate CNC and manual machines for precision tooling in automotive tooling production. You will program, set up, and run CNC mills and lathes or manual equipment, ensuring tight tolerances and quality.

The role supports tooling production, tool life improvement, and zero-defect manufacturing aligned with automotive standards. On-site, safety-focused environment as part of Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Technical certification in machining or toolmaking preferred.
• 1+ years machining experience preferred.
• Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Mechanical aptitude with problem solving ability.
• Familiar with inventory or ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and precision.
• Customer service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.
• Edit programs, offsets, and tool paths as required.
• Machine tool steels and carbide components.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements.
• Verify first-piece inspection prior to production runs.
• Manufacture one-off tooling and prototypes.
• Operate manual lathes, mills, surface grinders, centerless grinders, hones, and drill presses.
• Hand fit and adjust tooling components.
• Perform precision grinding and polishing.
• Modify existing tooling for engineering changes or process improvements.
• Produce and repair header dies and punches, forming inserts, pins.
• Rework worn tooling to extend life.
• Support rapid tooling turnaround during downtime.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, indicators, comparators, and gauges.
• Interpret GD&T and ensure conformance to prints.
• Assist with troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow safety, PPE requirements, and 5S housekeeping.
