Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking an experienced Toolroom Grinder & Machinist in Illinois to support precision tooling operations. You will grind, set up manual and CNC mills/ lathes, and perform hand scraping to maintain molds and fixtures.

Strong attention to measurement, quality, and documentation is essential. You will work with Okamoto, Okuma, Bridgeport, Chevalier, and Clausing equipment, collaborating with engineers to troubleshoot tooling and implement improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in toolroom or precision machining.
• Experience with manual& CNC mills, lathes and surface grinders.
• Hands-on with scraping, dovetail/box way maintenance.
• Able to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Proficient with micrometers, calipers & height gauges.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision grinding (surface, cylindrical, toolroom) to tight tolerances.
• Set up and operate manual and CNC mills and lathes.
• Hand scrape, flap scraping, dovetail/box way fitting to maintain sliding surfaces.
• Use precision measurement tools to verify dimensions and finish.
• Repair and maintain molds, dies and fixtures; document repairs and inventory.
• Program, set up, and run simple CNC milling/turning; support CNCs.
• Maintain shop safety and a clean work area.
