Job summary

Mikron Tool is seeking a Grinding Machinist for our Elk Grove Village, IL plant. You will set up and run CNC grinding on carbide tools, ensuring geometry and tolerance per technical drawings, with emphasis on tool quality and process stability.

Ideal candidates have Rollomatic/ANCA experience, strong GD&T reading skills, and proficiency with ToolRoom and VGPro. Shift work may be required; join a safety-focused, continuous improvement environment in a growing Swiss company.

Qualifications

• Strong technical expertise in CNC grinding using Rollomatic and/or ANCA machines.
• Ability to read metric drawings, tool blueprints and GD&T.
• Experience with CNC programming and grinding software (ToolRoom, VGPro).
• Skilled with precision inspection instruments (micrometers, calipers).
• Lean manufacturing knowledge and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC grinding machines to produce precision carbide tools per drawings.
• Perform in-process measurements and tool inspections to meet tight tolerances.
• Reduce scrap and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain machines, tooling and workspace, ensuring safety and reliability.
• Interpret drawings and tool layouts to ensure correct geometry and performance.
• Document production data and issues for traceability and improvement.
