Job summary

Steel Tool & Engineering Co. is seeking a full-time Toolmaker in Trenton, MI. The role focuses on building, repairing, and maintaining precision tools, dies, and fixtures, using CAD drawings and CAD/CAM processes along with CNC and manual machining.

You will read engineering drawings, follow tolerances, and work with engineers to improve tooling and processes. The position requires safety compliance, physical stamina, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while contributing to team

Qualifications

Experience reading CAD drawings and interpreting engineering specs.
Proficient with precision measurement tools and gauging devices.
Strong CNC and manual machining skills with a solid understanding of tolerances.

Responsibilities

Build, repair, and maintain precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and equipment.
Read blueprints, drawings, CAD models, and specs to produce parts within tight tolerances.
Set up CNC and manual machines, inspect finished products with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Diagnose issues, perform repairs, and optimize machining sequences for efficiency.
Document setup sheets and maintain accurate records; communicate with engineers and production teams.
