Job summary

Stellantis is seeking a skilled Toolmaker for our Warren, MI plant to design, assemble and inspect specialty tools and devices used on manufacturing machines. You will read blueprints, lay out stock and use machine tools to produce or repair cutting tools, jigs, fixtures and gauges.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship or toolmaking training preferred.
• 8+ years combined experience or formal apprenticeship in tool making.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment as a toolmaker or tool and die maker.

Responsibilities

• Set up, service, and modify machine tools to cut, bore, grind or shape parts to spec.
• Inspect tools to ensure conformance to blueprints and design intent.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and manuals for fabrication sequences.
• Test tools and adjust as necessary to meet tolerances.
• Lay out stock, assemble tools, fixtures, and gauges using hand and machine tools.
