Shape What Runs the Line — Join Us as a Precision Tooling and Die Fabrication SpecialistAt Anchor Fabrication in LaVergne, Tn, you’ll be the go-to expert who turns drawings and ideas into production-ready tooling. On our 2nd shift (2:30 pm–11:00 pm, Monday–Friday, with weekend overtime as needed), you’ll keep our operations moving by building, repairing, and improving the dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and cutting tools our teams rely on every day.A day in this roleYou’ll start by reviewing blueprints, sketches, models, or written descriptions, visualizing the end product to decide materials, machining strategies, and sequences. You’ll lay out metal stock, calculate dimensions, plan the assembly approach, and then move to the machines—lathes, mills, shapers, and grinders—to produce precision parts. Throughout the build, you’ll verify conformance to drawings and specifications, check dimensions, alignments, and clearances, and assemble, fit, and prove out the tooling. Along the way, you’ll collaborate with Engineering to troubleshoot process machinery and tool dies, as well as maintain specialized machines and hand tools that support production requirements.What you’ll make happenRepair, construct, modify, and maintain jigs, dies, fixtures, gauges, machine components, and related tooling in close partnership with EngineeringSet up and operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders to machine parts and prototypes; confirm parts meet drawings/specsProvide hands-on technical guidance to Tool & Die Makers, Machinists, and Press personnel for complex setups and operationsStudy specifications and visualize the product to determine materials and equipment to fabricate partsCompute dimensions; plan layouts; determine assembly methods and operation sequencesMeasure, mark, and scribe metal stock; machine and verify to specificationInspect and evaluate existing/legacy dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures; recommend functional and construction improvementsTranslate general concepts into specialty tool specifications; create sketches/drawings for fabricationWhat you bringHigh school diploma or equivalent3–5 years of Tool & Die experience; Journeyman’s card preferredMechanical aptitude with strong attention to detailAbility to prioritize work and meet schedule demandsClear, effective communication and collaboration skillsComputer literacy and proficiency with precision measuring instrumentsAbility to read and interpret technical specifications and drawingsSchedule2nd shift, 2:30 pm–11:00 pm, Monday–Friday; overtime opportunities on weekends.Our commitmentAnchor Fabrication is an equal opportunity employer.
