Job summary

You will read blueprints and 3D models to determine dimensions, perform precision measurements, troubleshoot tooling issues, and collaborate with engineers to improve tool design and productivity. Salary ranges from $58,000 to $90,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Toolmaker certification or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience operating lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy and heat treatment.
• Demonstrated use of precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, repair, and modify tooling, dies, fixtures, and gauges.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Set up and operate machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs.
• Perform precision measurements and quality inspections.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related production issues.
• Maintain and repair existing production tooling and equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff on tool design and improvement.
