Job summary

OTTO Engineering is seeking an experienced Tool and Die Maker in Illinois to lead tool development and debugging of new dies. You will read blueprints, operate tool room equipment, and ensure tooling meets production needs.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of Tool and Die experience, apprenticeship or equivalent, and strong troubleshooting, GDT, and SPC capabilities. OTTO emphasizes quality, safety, and long-term growth within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Tool and Die Apprenticeship or 10+ years of equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of Tool and Die Maker experience with troubleshooting skills.
• Expert in Blue-Print reading with GDT.
• Knowledge of SPC and inspection equipment.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, safe work area and tool records.
• Construct, alter or repair tooling from blueprints and CAD data.
• Operate tool room equipment and set up dies, materials and punches.
• Troubleshoot and debug new tooling for part approval process.
• Assist in die changeovers and related duties as required.
