Job summary

OTTO Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Injection Mold Maker in Illinois to fabricate and repair injection molding tooling.

You will work from blueprints or CAD models, maintain molds, and assist with design for manufacturability while ensuring safety and quality in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates bring 5–10 years mold making experience or OTTO apprenticeship, strong CAD/CAM skills, and the ability to operate CNC/EDM machines, surface grinders, and mills.

Qualifications

• Complete OTTO apprenticeship or 5–10 years’ experience with Mold making/repair.
• Knowledgeable of injection molding tool design.
• Proficient with CAD.
• Able to run CNC & EDM machines.
• Knowledgeable in the use of Surface Grinders and Mills.
• Sound inspection skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• Must be available for overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Keep a clean and safe work area.
• Thorough understanding of tool steels and production materials.
• Thorough understanding of molding tool room equipment.
• Thorough knowledge of piece part inspection to quality specifications.
• Capable of working from blue prints and/or CAD models to construct, alter, or repair tooling.
• Responsible for maintaining and fabrication of molds for the molding department.
• Assist in preventative maintenance for molds in the molding department.
• Assist in the design of piece parts for manufacturability.
• Basic understanding of operation of injection molding.
• Assist in ordering supplies in the molding tool room.
• Assist with communication of customers.
• Assist with on time delivery.
• Assist with other related duties as required or assigned.
